Every Fish Has a Tale: Gyotaku Art Exhibit

Every Fish Has a Tale: Gyotaku Art Exhibit, Local Artist Becky Albright –Come visit this exhibit and so much more at the Musuem May – October, 2016! To complement the X-ray exhibit, the Museum has invited Alexandria artist Becky Albright to exhibit her Gyotaku art prints – a traditional Japanese fish rubbing technique that creates detailed, one-of-a-kind impressions of real fish. Albright’s prints feature several species of fish found in Minnesota; they capture the exact detailed anatomy and size of a fish in a way a camera and taxidermy cannot. This becomes both a printed record of the catch and a unique and colorful piece of art.
