The Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum celebrates our lake traditions and legacies, and is committed to their preservation for future generations. A visit to the MLMM is enjoyable for everyone in your family. Visitors will discover classic boats, grand hotel and resort history, fishing memorabilia and much more. The Maritime Gardens unfolds as the project continues the development of Phase Two. Several events are scheduled in the Gardens this summer. The Museum and Gardens provide an excellent venue for your next company event or wedding. August 28 – Pistol Whippin Party Penguins: Straight from the great Mill City comes the Pistol Whippin Party Penguins. Their combination of folk, rock, blues, bluegrass, and the occasional stage banter will create an experience that anyone can enjoy!
Don’t miss this acclaimed group in their first visit to the Alexandria Lakes Area. Jimmi and the Band of Souls, “The Devil You Know” album, was voted best self-produced blues album in 2011 by the Minnesota Blues Society.
Reverend Raven & the Chain Smokin’ Altar Boys play classic Chicago Blues in the Maritime Gardens this Friday. If you love the Blues, don’t miss Reverend Raven! This band has has earned avid fans throughout the Midwest.
Saturday, July 11 (10 am to 3 pm) The annual Minnesota Lakes Classic Boat Show is held at Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center on Lake Darling in Alexandria, MN. This is family friendly event with beautiful classic boats on display as well as interesting seminars. Admission is free to spectators.
